I keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?

i have a 99 mazda protege, and the fuse from the dash board lights and tail lights blew. i changed it about 10 times and it keeps blowing. also the radio will not even turn on.. im a female trying to fix it. can anyone tell me what the problem is? and about how much it will be to fix it and where i can get it fixed. thank youI keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
Something is up with your electrical system... You need to go in and have someone look at it... Hopefully they will be able to just hook it up to the Dino and figure out the error code but either way... You can't fix the electrical system on your own.

I wish i had a girl like your fuseI keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
Well, the fuse is blowing for a reason. The trick is - to find the reason.

If you can, find out what else is on that line. If its just the taillights and dash lights then pull out the bulbs. Try replacing the fuse with the bulbs out. If the fuse does not blow then replace the bulbs one-at-a-time until the fuse blows. That will be your bad circuit. If the fuse still blows when you have all the bulbs out, you will need to isolate each line to each socket until you find the %26quot;short%26quot;. If it gets to be too much a good mechanic can find it in about 20 minutes. A bad mechanic will keep trying different things until he/she stumble upon the problem.

Check the fuse for the radio. There should be one in the fuse panel and (if you have an after-market radio) there should be another in the power line to the radio,

Good luck!I keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
you might have some electrical wiring problems and may have accedentially messed up something when you were fixing it those timesI keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
you have a wiring problem..theres either two wires touching or the ground wire is touching metal somewhere...

the cost...its hard to tell..it all depends on where the wire is bad at and how much of the dash has to b tore out...

you can take it to your local garage and get an estimate...I keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
you have a short somewhere, they can be real hard to track down , better get a mechanic to look at it before you could have a fireI keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
Should be a common circuit with parking/tailights

Remove the bulbs from the parking and tailights

Check sockets for corrosion/bare wires

Install fuse and replace bulbs one a time to see if problem is in the exterior of vehicle - if not same procedure under dash board I keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
Are you sure you're using the right type of fuse? You may need a higher gauge.

If you still have the old one, check the number on the top.

If you have a friend with the same car ask and check theirs.

Otherwise, talk to your dealer or a mechanic for the right number.I keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
You have a short somewhere. I would start tracing wires looking for breaks. Have you added any accessories or anything? Your radio should not be on the same fuse as your tail lights. Fords aren't anyways. I keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
well if they blow once thats normal if they blow again then you have a short somewhere with one of the things that is not working.. any shop will do it but i could nt put a price on it unless i was working on it they go by time it take to fix it and what they have to do to fix itI keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
Double check that you are using the right amperage fuse. If it's right and still blows you have a problem that could cause serious damage if you don't get to a mechanic.I keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
It is an electronic problem and needs to have the garage check. You can ask for an estimate before paying for the work. Make sure the estimate is given in writing. Tell them you will get back to them after you go to a couple other garages for n estimate. This will let them know you won't be taken as a female because a lot of garages jack up the price when a female asks. Go to 3 garages and than go to the one that you feel is the most reputable and give them the lowest quote and see if they will match it. A lot of the newer cars require a computer diagnosis to find the problem when it is electronic. It may just be a faulty wire.I keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
The only thing i can think of would be to get a voltage/amperage meter and open the car up and test the connections. Is the stereo a new one? did it come with the car? do you have other things installed/plugged in that did not come with the car. If you dont have a amperage meter and know how to use one you might have to take it to a local shop or a local highschool that has an autoshop class ( the teachers will let the kids fix it for you with no cost other than parts ). you might even be using the wrong fuses.

BTW: rishab copy and basted his post off another wiki site i say down thumb himI keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
what's that definition of insanity? doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result? sorry, just kiddin...

this is one of those rogue electrical gremlins that can be difficult to diagnose. You'll have to take it to someone or else learn to use a multimeter (it's not that difficult).

If you end up taking it to the shop, it needs to be a mechanic you can trust -- they'll be charging by the hour, and it could take anywhere from 10 minutes to three hours maybe more.

wish I had a better answer for ya.I keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
look in the wire harness to the tail lights, start at the lights and work back to the fuse box. You will find that harness in the trunk and under the carpet usually the drivers side good luckI keep changing the fuse on my car and it keeps blowing..?
Blown fuses are a Symptom of a problem, not the problem,There is a short circuit in one of the systems mentioned, a chafed wire perhaps. The parts that re most exposed are the taillights, look or feel where the wires come out of the tube if it is ruff tape it over with electrical tape. It is slow and tedious but rewarding if you find something.
